The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts which houses the largest collection of sterling silver artifacts found outside the United Kingdom and the superb "equine" art collection donated to the museum by Paul Mellon, founder of the Mellon Banking fortune. The museum proudly displays an important collection of decorated eggs by Peter Faberge. While visiting the museum district, don’t miss Monument Avenue (pictured) which is nearby.

History buffs will be anxious to visit the Virginia Historical Society, the White House of the Confederacy, and the American Civil War Center (at the Tredegar Ironworks) . Numerous civil war battlefields are located within the metropolitan Richmond region. Patrick Henry delivered his "Give Me Liberty or Give Me Death" speech to our founding fathers at St. John’s Church on Church Hill, just a short distance from downtown.
The Richmond area hosts a variety of sporting events such as soccer, lacrosse , and volleyball tournaments, and is home to a professional soccer team, "The Richmond Kickers". NASCAR hosts both spring and fall Sprint Cup races under the lights at Richmond International Raceway. Additionally, the Richmond area hosts several "K" races throughout the year, with individuals participating from all parts of the country.

There are several institutions of higher learning in the metro-Richmond area. They are: the University of Richmond, Virginia Commonwealth University, the VCU School of Medicine, Virginia Union University, Virginia State University, J.Sargent Reynolds Community College, and John Tyler Community College
These attractions and many, many more are just minutes from I-95, Rt. 288, the Powhite Parkway (195) and the downtown expressway, giving you direct access to all of the metropolitan Richmond region.
